————————————————————————————-
Hello shushu:
I am haodong! Long time no see! I miss u very much!
Before I write this letter, had wondered If u still remember me.
I'll apologize for not having been keeping in touch with you.
How have you been these days? I hope shushu you are fine now.
Now I have entered Senior 2, and I think this would be a hard time for me to come through.
BTW,have you ever heard of the College Entrance Examination?
That is the most important examination in China.
I often complain to my parents, my classmates and my friends about the educational system in China. If you were a student like me and my other classmates in China, I think you would hate this kind of educational system as well!
As concerned as I am, I am discontented with the way that teachers in China teach us.
You may have heard that Chinese educational system is of an “examination-oriented education system”,which makes students form a consciousness of studying only for getting good grades in every exam!
Under the influence of the exam-oriented education system, most students aim for studying to pass the important College Entrance exam. At school, after a class, students will take out their coaching books to start solving the math, physics or chemistry problems one by one in order to practice their skills in solving every problem which are likely to appear in our exam papers.
Cause’ most teachers and parents valuate the quality of each student based mostly on their marks gotten in each exam.
So you can see, in order to leave good impressions on teachers and keep up with others, we must try our best to compete with others to improve ourselves. But I really hate the way we are taught. Teachers in China mostly teach students the method of solving every type of math, physics and chemistry problems.
In their opinion, the best way to train students is to make them work out as many difficult problems as they could. As for most students, the ability to work out all kinds of problems is more important than any other thing.
So under the influence of the educational system, students go to school every day only aim for acknowledging more and more different method to settle science problems.
Now you have a impression of the way Chinese students acknowledge education.
Then shushu what do you think of it?
To be honest, I hate it more than words can say!
I remember one day I read an article in a newspaper, which is given out by our English teacher.
The main idea of the text is that the writer compares the differences between the ways China and the US teach students. It says that Chinese students are better in solving mathematical problems but after an exam their ability to work out problems would come down as time goes by.
Sure, China often have many difficult math problems in every exam, which makes students have to practice solving as much problems as possible. So when they are having their exams, they are usually more skilled in working out math problems than British students. But I think students still cannot really acknowledge useful knowledge, because they just study again and again just for dealing with the most important College Entrance Examination in the end. So it is very easy for them to forget the knowledge that they have learned before. So as I have mentioned, the educational system of China is of an “examination-oriented education system. Besides the articles tells that British students are not willing to work out difficult mathematical problems and most school would adapt students who major Arts, but, although I hate the educational system in China, I don’t think it’s not necessary for students to form the abilities to solve mathematical problems. Because math is very important and useful in many other subjects, such as physics and chemistry. If the US lacks too many students which have an aptitude for mathematics, then there will be less engineers and physics, right?
OK, shushu, I am just complaining my annoyance. But I really want to know about the way the US teachers teach students.
I know I can’t change the educational system in China now, though, I am not disappointed about myself. Now my aim is to study harder and I hope two years later, when the College Entrance Examination of 2012 come, I will pass the examination and be admitted to Tsinghua University, the best university in China. Only then will I relief.
Wow shushu, hehe I have typed many words without knowing!
I really miss you! I will reply to you on Every Friday night.
BTW,(I don’t know if it’s impolite……)
Have you got married yet?
I will still have a long long way to step on,
Maybe I will have much more busy time than before. Are you busy working now?
Now I am very interested in math and physics!!
Shushu do you like them as well?
Hehe, best wishes for you.
